Intellectual Property (IP) is the creation of human intellect and an asset to be bought, sold, mortgaged, licensed, exchanged or gratuitously given away like any other form of property. The creator of the IP seeks exclusive right and property to be used by others only after owner consent. Geographical Indication is an emerging trend in intellectual property. Geographical indications (GIs) of goods are basically industrial property referred to a country or a place situated in the country or place of origin of product. Every region has its identity through qualities of certain goods or commodities attributable to geographical locations and reputable as produce of certain region.
