Abstract

The paper analyses the doctoral degrees awarded in library and information science in India during 2006-2011 with the relevant statistical tables. Data on doctoral degrees have been collected from the journal University News. An attempt has been made here to show the quantity of research output in library and information science and the discipline social science as well. The theses on library and information science have been discussed broadly. Study represents the year, university, state, guide, subject wise distribution of the research output in library and information science during the period of the six years of study (2006-2011).
